Automatically learns pump signatures to set exact overloads, while integrated duty standby logic instantly engages the backup pump if the primary unit fails
Features smart alternation to share runtime evenly, alongside cascade logic to kick both pumps in simultaneously during high inflow events. Can also run both pumps completely independently across two separate tanks
Works with standard float switches, pressure switches, and probes, alongside an integrated 4-20 mA input for precision transducer or level sensor control
Full digital display tracking minimum/maximum current, phase failure, voltage spikes, motor Klixon thermal alerts, and water in oil chamber protection
Programmable timers, anti-seizure routines, a dedicated “Rain” automation feature, and a volt-free BMS output for building management system integration
Connectivity
Link an AES GSM SMS Text Dialler to the integrated BMS output for instant remote monitoring. If a fault occurs, the system automatically sends real-time text alerts, emails, and voice calls to an unlimited number of recipients.
Get immediate, real-time notifications for:
Pumps running or pumps tripped
Klixon motor overheating alerts
High-level and low-level alarm warnings
Protection
Standard twin pump systems don’t have automated control, if a pump blocks, a pipe bursts, or inflows spike unexpectedly, a basic setup can easily fail or burn out, the AES EPIC 2D handles the automation and safety protection for your entire system.
The Epic 2D constantly balances the workload between both pumps to ensure even wear, and if it detects a critical voltage drop, phase failure, or dry-running scenario, it instantly cuts power to protect your investment.
Most importantly, if Pump 1 encounters a fault such as a blockage, the panel instantly overrides and activates Pump 2, keeping your site operational and saving you from an expensive emergency flood situation.

The AES EPIC 2D is engineered as a flexible control platform for commercial, industrial, and residential pump installations. By consolidating duty share and fallback logic into a single micro-processed unit, this dual pump control panel eliminates the need for bespoke, single application wiring assemblies across diverse fluid handling systems.
Wastewater and Sewage Management
In drainage applications, this dual pump system controller manages heavy duty submersible wastewater pumps and surface water drainage setups. The integrated cascade logic automatically activates the secondary pump during peak inflow periods or storm events, while the automatic failover prevents site flooding by instantly shifting the workload if the primary pump suffers a blockage or mechanical failure.
Clean Water and Pressure Boosting
For fresh water delivery, the panel integrates seamlessly with surface mounted vertical multistage pumps and pressure booster sets. Operating via float switches, pressure switches, or a 4-20 mA pressure transducer, it maintains stable system pressure. The built-in cyclic rotation ensures even wear across both motors, preventing the internal component stagnation common in static backup setups.
Advanced Automation and Field Inputs
Designed for modern building automation architecture, the panel handles complex inputs from ultrasonic level sensors, digital probes, and thermal motor Klixon circuits. It includes dedicated automation routines such as anti-seizure cycling, programmable run timers, and a specialised “Rain” function, alongside a volt-free BMS contact for direct building management system monitoring and remote fault reporting.
What happens if a pump gets blocked or encounters an electrical fault?
In standard installations, a pump failure can cause immediate system downtime or site flooding. The AES EPIC 2D eliminates this risk through intelligent duty standby logic. The moment the panel detects a motor overload, phase failure, or thermal trip on the primary pump, it automatically overrides the system and shifts the entire workload to the backup pump instantly, keeping your drainage or booster system fully operational.
How do you handle sudden high inflow or storm water events?
When heavy rainfall or peak usage outpaces the capacity of a single pump, the panel’s integrated cascade logic takes over. Instead of letting the sump or holding tank overflow, the system automatically activates both pumps simultaneously to double your discharge rate until the liquid levels return to a safe baseline.
How can I prevent static pumps from seizing up during low-use periods?
Pumps that sit idle as a static backup often seize due to component stagnation or sediment build-up. This dual panel uses cyclic rotation to automatically alternate the starting order of every duty cycle. By sharing the runtime precisely 50/50 between both motors, it ensures even component wear and guarantees both pumps remain active and reliable.
