About us

Oliver started Automated Environmental Systems, AES to most of our customers, in 2007 after spotting a gap in the market for selling pumps and pumping equipment online.

Today we supply thousands of products, from pumps and packaged pumping stations to swimming pool equipment, to customers all over the UK, and service pumping stations on site.

Who we are

Oliver has more than 30 years’ experience in pumps and pumping stations. Simon has more than 20 years in water technology, with in-depth knowledge of swimming pool pumps, filtration and heat pumps.

Our head office and warehouse in Bury St Edmunds is 13,500 sq ft, with a satellite office in Folkestone. The business is self-funded: our investment in an ERP system, software and racking has streamlined everything we do.

Packaged pumping stations

Packaged pumping stations are one of our specialities, from small tanks for surface water to large, complex builds for commercial, industrial and building projects, including the Olympic Park at Stratford.

Smaller domestic pumping stations are usually in stock for next working day delivery. Lead times for larger tanks depend on the build. Whatever the size of your project, we’re happy to quote.

A wide range of products

We source products from manufacturers all over the world, from a sump pump weighing a few kilos to industrial pumps that move thousands of litres an hour.

Swimming pool equipment is our fastest growing area, especially pool heat pumps, which can cut pool heating costs by up to 80% compared with a gas boiler.

On-site servicing

Preventative servicing, emergency breakdown response and repairs for sewage, storm water and effluent pumping stations throughout the UK.

  • SMAS Worksafe and CHAS Contractor accredited, meeting the SSIP core criteria

We also supply ductile iron valves and pipework for pumping stations.

Stock and delivery

A new forklift, racking and warehouse management system have taken our warehouse from 450 to 1,250 pallet spaces, so we hold more stock and keep up with seasonal demand.

In stock orders placed by 2pm, Monday to Friday, are dispatched the same day, with friendly expert advice and updates all the way through your order.

Service plans

Choose from Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum service plans, or a plan made for your pumping station, and spread the cost with a monthly Direct Debit.
