Product description

The Ice Spa 5kW is a plug & play full Inverter heat pump for spas especially designed for cold climates, at -10°C air and 38°C water temperature, heat output is still 3.1kW thanks to the EVI (Enhanced Vapour Injection) compressor. In fact with a COP of 2.64-2.24, even at -10°C, the Ice Spa is two times cheaper than the electric heater to run.

EVI (Enhanced Vapour Injection) improves the energy efficiency of refrigeration and air conditioning systems by injecting additional vapor into the compressor at low temperatures. It is thanks to this innovative technology that the Ice Spa is able to perform so well in extreme weather conditions.

Operating down to -25°C, you can heat up your spa or hot tub in the middle of winter, the Full Inverter technology will reduce your energy consumption up to 75% at an equivalent power consumption compared to an electric heater.

Easy to install, the Ice Spa is compatible with all hot tubs and connects itself as easily. Ideal for swim spas and Nordic baths, this heat pump will exceed your expectations.

The Ice Spa features a remote colour touchscreen that can be detached from the unit (wired) and also Wi-Fi temperature control and a programmable timer using the Smart Life App, available for iOS and Android smart devices.

What is COP?

COP stands for Coefficient of Performance

COP is quoted as a number, such as 5.2

For each kW of energy input, 5.2 x kW would be output

The higher the output, the lower the running costs

Installation

Connections

All models are fitted with a mains cable, RCD and plug as standard, making them suitable for outdoor sockets.

Water inlet and outlet connections are 32-38mm, two hose tails are supplied as standard, however you may require additional hose and fittings to connect to your spa or hot tub. The Ice Spa should be connected after your spa’s circulation pump and heater, the use of a bypass kit (normally made up of 2 x T-pieces and 3 x ball valves) is recommended.

Supplied with RCD mains cable, anti-vibration pads, 2 x 1″ / 32-38mm hose tails, 2 x hose clips and winter cover

The Ice Spa heat pump features built-in Wi-Fi connectivity as standard (requires Wi-Fi network with suitable signal strength) and can be controlled from your smartphone. The ‘Smart Life’ App is available for both iOS and Android smartphones.

Your Poolex Ice Spa heat pump should always be installed outside, restrictions on air flow around a heat pump such as dense vegetation or solid surfaces such as sheds, fences or walls will lead to a drop in efficiency and heating ability, it especially important that cooled air can be properly dispersed away from the unit.

While the casing provides protection from the weather, the Ice Spa should be disconnected and stored in a shed or garage if not in use for extended periods.
