Benefits of modernising

  • An inverter heat pump has a COP of 13 or more at 24°C air, giving over 13kW of heat for every 1kW it uses: the cheapest way to heat a pool
  • Modern pumps are quieter and more efficient, so a smaller motor can often give the same flow for less
  • A variable speed drive runs the pump only as fast as it needs to, so it’s much quieter and uses 70% less energy
  • Smart controls show you your pool’s status and let you control connected equipment remotely
  • Salt chlorinators make chlorine from the salt in your pool water, at a constant, controlled level
  • UV sterilisers neutralise bacteria, viruses, algae and fungi in your pool water
  • Well designed pipework cuts friction and pressure loss, increases flow and loses less heat

Key points to consider

  • Boilers and electric heaters give less than 1kW of heat for every 1kW they use, the most expensive way to heat a pool
  • Older pumps are noisy and inefficient, often using around 1kW an hour, a hidden running cost
  • Backwashing your filter regularly keeps the water clear and makes the filter media last longer
  • Long, untidy pipe runs lower pressure and flow, and lose more heat
  • Automated dosing takes out the guesswork, so you never under or over-dose your pool
  • Uneven chemical levels can irritate eyes and skin
  • Fewer chemicals mean less corrosion of pool surfaces and equipment
