Control your Poolican the smart way
Using the new Poolex App, you control in real time the water circulation, filtration, disinfection, heating and lighting of the pool, all from your smartphone, with greater precision. The Poolican streamlines your pool management by centralising all essential functions, offering an all-in-one solution for maximum performance and a simplified maintenance.
Connection to your home Wi-Fi network is required.
How does the salt electrolyser work?
The principle is simple, electrolysis breaks down the salt contained in the water into chlorine and sodium, more natural than disinfectant chlorine tablets, the disinfectant reverts back into salt when it comes into contact with organic components such as bacteria and skin cells etc. or under the effect of light (sun), which starts the electrolysis cycle again.
**Please note: that in order for the salt electrolyser to create chlorine you will need to convert your pool to salt water by adding salt pellets, you will need 3kg of salt per 1m³ (1,000 litres) of water to increase the salt rate by 3.0g/l (3,000ppm).
You can switch the salt electrolyser off if you would prefer to use chlorine tablets instead of converting your pool water to salt water.

What is COP?
COP stands for Coefficient of Performance
COP is quoted as a number, such as 5.5
For each kW of energy input, 5.5 x kW would be output
The higher the output, the lower the running costs
Installation
If you are thinking of heating your pool you should cover the pool when not in use as 80% of heat loss occurs through surface evaporation, a separate solar or bubble cover is a worthwhile investment if you don’t have an existing cover.
With an above ground pool it is especially important to keep it covered as these pools are not well insulated against heat loss – additional insulation around the sides and bottom of an above-ground pool can help to retain valuable heat – in fact properly insulating your pool can extend your season or even reduce the size of heat pump required.
The Poolican includes a 5kW Inverter heat pump with a fully variable speed compressor and fan, the motor speeds up and slows down as needed to achieve and maintain the required temperature, the result is that the desired temperature will be reached more quickly and maintained more efficiently than a fixed speed motor.
The Poolican pool heat pump has an average C.O.P. of 5.5, meaning that for each kW of energy consumed up to 5.5kW of heat is transferred to your pool (dependent on both air and water temperature).
Your Poolican pool heat pump should always be installed outside, restrictions on air flow around a heat pump such as dense vegetation or solid surfaces such as sheds, fences or walls will lead to a drop in efficiency and heating ability, it especially important that cooled air can be properly dispersed away from the unit.
The Poolican is manufactured from high-quality materials, the ABS case offers protection from the weather, the Poolican is also resistant to damage from salt water.
The manufacturer literature may state that the heat pump should be positioned above the waterline, the assumption being that pools are in-ground, therefore the heat pump would sit at ground level.
If you have an above-ground pool please also position your heat pump at ground level (therefore below the waterline), there is no need to elevate the heat pump.

**Please note: in order for the salt electrolyser to create chlorine you will need to add salt to your pool water
