About this product

Our Gravity Feed Rainwater Harvesting System comprises a unique flat shallow dig tank, which comes supplied as a kit to supply rainwater for flushing toilets, filling washing machines and light watering of gardens. The system allows you to collect, filter, store and pump your rainwater to the smart header tank that equalises pressure to all outlets and reduces the number of pumping cycles.

The low energy management system pumps through a control unit, up to a ‘smart header tank’ usually situated in a loft space. Inside the header tank are two level sensors, upper and lower. The system fills the header tank to the upper sensor then does not use the pump again until virtually all of the water is used and the lower sensor is reached. This ‘batch filling’ process means the pump cycles 1-2 times per day, in comparison to every time a toilet is flushed with traditional systems.

Full mains override provides water in the event of low rainwater, pump failure or power cut.

The unique flat tank can be installed into higher water tables than a standard round tank. The installation depth is 60% less than other rainwater tanks, whilst excavation can be up to 70% less, meaning less earth excavation and less cost.

The tank can be installed without the need for costly concrete bases or back filling, simply site on 100mm of compacted aggregate and back fill with similar material.

Positioning is flexible and each tank comes with a 635mm shaft that can be cut on site to achieve the required invert level. A pedestrian rated manhole cover is provided for the top of the shaft. Steel shaft and cover available on request for use in driveways or other areas where vehicles may need to drive over the tank cover.

Water companies now recommend, and in some cases require the use of black and green HDPE pipe to transfer the collected rainwater to the outlet/s. Each rainwater system comes with a 25m coil of 25mm black and green HDPE pipe as standard.

Key features

Gravity feed system provides reclaimed rainwater for flushing toilets, filling washing machines and to a garden tap for light watering (tap not supplied, some additional pipework maybe required)

Smart header tank uses 6-8 times less energy than direct pumped system, the header tank is filled by the pump and then does not use the pump again until virtually all of the water is used. This ‘batch filling’ process means the pump cycles 1-2 times per day, in comparison to every time a toilet is flushed with traditional systems

Full mains override, providing water in every eventuality: Low rainwater, pump failure or power cut

Ensures water quality by cycling water in the header tank if no activity is registered within 72 hours

Prolonged pump life due to reduction in cycling

Silent operation

Rotationally moulded, one piece tanks, installed without the need for concrete, thereby minimising installation costs and supported by 25 year tank guarantee

Minimum installation depth, can be installed in ground water up to tank shoulder

Installation depth is 60% less than other rainwater tanks due to flat tank, with up to 70% less excavation required

Built in self-cleaning filter, overflow kit and pressure sensitive pump delivers clean rainwater for flushing toilets and supplying a garden tap

External 25mm black and green HDPE pipe included as recommended by water companies

Excavation pit needs to be just 400mm longer and wider than the chosen tank and depth needs to be just 100mm deeper than total height to allow for 100mm aggregate base
